Beautiful Day Meets Petal Burst Embossing-Celebrate!

celebrate beautiful day card

This beauty was my swap card to trade with other demonstrators at OnStage, a Stampin' Up! conference for demonstrators only. It was such a blast!! Each card I made, I swapped and got a card in return so I came back home with lots of beautiful cards and fresh ideas.

I chose to use the Celebrate You thinlits with the Beautiful Day stamps where that big fancy flower is from, to make this card. The whisper white base gives the foundation for this card to shine is all it's bright colors. The word celebrate is cut from lemon lime twist cardstock and the petal burst embossing folder added texture to that strip of tranquil tide cardstock. The flower was stamped with versamark ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I fussy cut the flower so I could bump it up on the card with dimensionals after I watercolored that flower with an aqua painter and the following liquid ink colors: tranquil tide, lemon lime twist, and daffodil delight (listed in order from the center to the outside). The embossing powder resists that watercolor inks delightfully! I used a few drops of each color of ink on the lid of each ink pad then took my aqua painter ( a pen filled with water) and squeezed a few drops of water on each lid to mix with the ink drops. Then I used the aqua painter to watercolor the flower starting at the center and painting the darker color first, then moving out to the medium shade then the lightest color last on the edges. Watercolor is supposed to be unique each and every time the technique is used so enjoy that natural look of blended colors and unevenness of each color. The leaves were punched from the leaf punch in lemon lime twist and silver foil paper then layered underneath the flower. The silver edged white ribbon and silver sequins tie in the silver leaves together with the rest of the card and finish it off quite nicely. At OnStage in Atlanta, GA this year, many were delighted to trade cards with me and receive this beauty!
